From San Diego I flew UA via Houston (IAH) to Buenos Aires (EZE). At IAH I was surprised to see so many people unaware of the Reciprocity fee charge by Argentina to US, Canadian and Australian Citizens and that it must be paid in advance, on-line (since Oct 2012). The UA gate people were checking each person and luckily there was an office at IAH were you could pay the fee (I didn't check it out though). I had decided to travel on my UK passport as Argentina does not charge a fee or require a visa for UK citizens. Argentina charges the Reciprocity fee because the US, Canada & Australia, do charge Argentine citizens to visit. Seems the quid pro quo is fair enough. Go here to pay Argentina Reciprocity on-line: https://virtual.provinciapagos.com.ar/ArgentineTaxes/ Upon arriving in Buenos Aires I used Manual Tienda Leon transportation, for a car ($82USD each way), to get to/from EZE and AEP Airport (Aeroparque "Jorge Newbery"). The booth is located right as you leave the baggage claim areas at both airports. I had re-purchased this on-line in advance and their service was excellent, fast, friendly, no hanging about waiting and the cars were both clean and late models! It took me 35 mins (Sat) and 50mins (Wed) respectively to get between airports. Reserve Manual Tienda Leon transportation here: http://www.tiendaleon.com.ar/home/empresa/que_hacemos_2.asp?id_idioma=2
Buenos Aires, I didn't stay here, next time I will explore this city but I just wasn't interested in a big city on this trip.
