Grumman YF14A "Tomcat" " swing wing aircraft, with a max speed of Mach 2.38 (1544mph), continues to be a premier long-range strike-fighter. Between 1969 and 1992 Grumman produced some 710 of them.

The MiG-23 was designed in 1964-66 as a successor to the MiG-21. In addition to a much more powerful engine, the MiG-23's most significant new feature was its variable sweep wing. Like the USAF's swing wing F-111, the sweep of the wings could be changed in flight.
The F-84F "Thunderstreak" was introduced in 1949 and ended service in 1972.
The MiG-21 Fishbed F is a short-range day fighter-interceptor and the first major production version of the popular MiG-21 series. It is but one of many versions of this aircraft that have served in the air arms of many nations around the world. The E-5 prototype of the MiG-21 was first flown in 1955 and made its first public appearance during the Soviet Aviation Day display at Moscow's Tushino Airport in June 1956.
During the Vietnam War, MiG-21s were often used against U.S. aircraft. Between April 26, 1965, and January 8, 1973, USAF F-4s and B-52s downed 68 MiG-21s.
More than 30 countries of the world--including nations friendly to the U.S.--have flown the MiG-21. At least 15 versions of the MiG-21 have been produced, some outside the Soviet Union. Estimates place the number built at more than 8,000, a production total exceeding that of any other modern jet aircraft.
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 was a jet fighter developed for the USSR by Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich. The MiG-15 was one of the first successful swept-wing jet fighters, and it achieved fame in the skies over Korea, where early in the war, it outclassed all enemy fighters. The MiG-15 also served as the starting point for development of the more advanced MiG-17 which would oppose American fighters over Vietnam in the 1960s. The MiG-15 is believed to have been one of the most numerous jet aircraft ever made, with over 12,000 built. Licensed foreign production perhaps raised the total to over 18,000. The Mig-15 is often mentioned along with the F-86 Sabre in lists of the best fighter aircraft of the Korean War and in comparison with fighters of other eras.

The Mig-l9 came from the successful design bureau of Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich. The dramatic 55 degree sweep and twin engines gave this aircraft excellent performance and speed. It was comparable to the U.S. F-100 Super Sabre. The Mig-19 was also licensed for production in China and it equipped most Soviet Eastern Bloc countries throughout the 1960's. China even abandoned its newer Mig-21's and returned to producing Mig-l9's.
The "Anushka" ("Annie") as it is known to Russian pilots was designed just after WW2, over 20,000 were produced by Russia and Poland through 1992. The airplane continues in production under license in China.
